Myti Mussels Ltd
Business Description |
Bottom Cultivation of Blue Mussel, Mytilus edulis. Myti Mussels collects wild seed mussels from the Irish Sea and transplants them to sheltered lays in the Menai Strait in North Wales, where they grow and fatten for up to 3 years. To do this we use two mussel dredgers, Valente BS8, a specialised 43metre dredger which is optimised for seed collection, and Lolipop BS1 a revolutionary 21 metre harvesting barge. Harvested mussels are washed at sea and landed in 1 tonne bulk bags, before shipping to end users all over Europe. Established in 1982, we are a family run business and are currently seeking MSC accreditation as an enhanced fishery. |
