Eastern Fisheries Inc., based in New Bedford, Mass., U.S.A., controls the harvest, packaging, and distribution of its seafood. With a fleet of 23 scallop vessels and three manufacturing facilities (strategically positioned in the U.S. and on the Pacific Rim) to grade, freeze, package, and ship product, Eastern is the world’s largest provider of fresh/frozen sea and bay scallops.

Capitalizing on its systems of vertical integration, Eastern introduced flatfish to its offerings. Wild caught in the cold, pristine waters of Alaska, the premium SeaFine Brand sole is naturally low in fat and calories. Consistent and fresh, the flaky fillets are skinless, boneless, and mild in flavor. IQF fillets packaged in bulk; marketing for private labels available.

Also new to the SeaFine brand: whole flounder fillets with panko-style breading. This product is dual purpose, bake or fry, and suitable for broad use in all market segments.

In a further move to diversify its seafood, the company dedicated one of its New Bedford plants to the processing and distribution of fresh/frozen N. Atlantic monkfish, dogfish, and skate.
